You Belong Here
We’re ready. Are You?
This is the first blog of our new web site. We are excited to have a new format to engage our audience. We hope by now you have visited a few of the pages – especially our program pages, calendar page and the links to the stories featured on our front page next to the Fresh@YW
While we have packed a lot of information in this site, it serves as a small step in getting you engaged, involved and encouraged to remain a vital part of the YWCA Greensboro and the YWCA worldwide.
At the heart of our mission are the women and girls of the past and present whose lives have been impacted by our programs. Our outreach to young women and girls through the Parenting Programs has touched lives for over 30 years. The young women of middle and high school age benefit from our after school activities through YWorld and Young Women in Charge in numerous ways. The Passion to Purse program has breathed new life into emerging businesses owned and operated by women.
Then there are the programs that inform. The Lunch and Learn and Community Conversations provide the public with free access to experts in a variety of fields addressing a variety of issues. This year the Lunch and Learns are dedicated to addressing disparities for women of color in health-related matters. Please check in regularly for updates on these programs. They are a terrific way to meet other people who care passionately about their community and one another.
As a not-for-profit organization, the YWCA Greensboro is dedicated to keeping the lines of communication with our supporters open wide. The fact that you visited our web site and took time to read our initial blog of the new site, means you are already interested in the YWCA Greensboro. We thank you and encourage you to delve deeper into this site to learn about our programs and visit links that take you to a world of issues and concerns. More importantly, we invite you to Donate, Act, and Connect.
We have stepped up our game to meet the needs of our community. We need you to come along on our quest. Ask yourself: YWould I care? We’ll be ready with the answer: Because the YWCA is on a mission and we need you.
