Announcing the Preserve the Legacy of the Shirley T. Frye YWCA Greensboro Campaign!
On May 11th, 2021, Greensboro News & Record helped us announce our new campaign. Pictured on the front page of the newspaper is Campaign Spokesperson Deb Harris Richardson, Campaign Chair Denise Manello McGee, and Interim President & CEO Pamela Palmer standing outside of our facility, named for Shirley T. Frye in 2017. The purpose of the campaign is to raise $300,000 by June 30th to sustain the legacy of the YWCA Greensboro. It is our intention that the campaign will run on a yearly basis as a part of a fund development strategy and sustainability plan.
To reach our $300,000 goal, we are asking for the help of 100 Friends of the YWCA Greensboro. Friends of the YWCA Greensboro are those who have donated their time, money, and talents to this organization for years, or those who want to start today! Because of our incredible community that answer every call, we have been able to shelter families experiencing homelessness, encourage teen parents to finish school, assist at-risk minority mothers in being amazing parents to healthy children, teach women how to be successful in their entrepreneurial pursuits, and provide after-school care and summer camp to children from local schools. Help us continue this legacy!
